Richard Heise, Jr, Principal of InnerWorkings, LLC, announced today that John R. Walter, retired Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company, was named Chairman of InnerWorkings, a leading enterprise print management firm.
"We’re delighted to welcome John Walter to our company," said Heise. "John’s highly related industry experience will provide us with crucial insight and guidance as we continue our triple-digit revenue growth and expand our service offering."
Walter became chairman of R. R. Donnelley, a world leader in the print and publisher services industry, in 1989 after holding positions as CEO, president, executive vice president of various operating units. During the 10 years of his operational leadership, Donnelley transformed itself and steadily increased revenue, earnings and cash flow in an industry experiencing little growth.
Following R.R. Donnelley, Walter joined AT&T as president and chief operating officer and was responsible for day-to-day operations of the company's core long-distance, local, wireless and on-line services businesses, as well as their credit card and outsourcing businesses.
"I’m very excited about the opportunity to work with InnerWorkings," said Walter. "InnerWorkings has a dynamic and revolutionary business model that addresses the inefficiencies of the current print market." Walter also serves on the boards of Abbott Laboratories, Deere & Company, Manpower, Inc. and SNP Corporation of Singapore.
